Treatment

  1. Hospitalize infants <6 months w/ risk of severe disease
  2. Observe for apnea after paroxysms
  3. May require
  4. Treat all close contacts to limit transmission
  5. Antibiotics

Instructions for Follow-Up

  1. Prevention by immunization
  2. Tdap booster

Prognosis

  1. Children >1 yo
  2. Infants < 6 months
