Pathophysiology

  1. CNS depressant/ anesthetic: global cerebrospinal suppression (not direct action at neuromuscular junction)
  2. Risk factors for toxicity
  3. Kinetics
  4. Morbidity/mortality

Treatment

  1. ABCs, IV, O2, monitor
  2. Decrease absorption
  3. Severe bradycardia: atropine
  4. Seizure
  5. Coma

Disposition

  1. Admit
  2. Discharge
  3. Report to regional Poison Control Center
